"Spring Breeze" ~ Acrylic Painting

SOLD

Greetings!

I created this original modern flowering tree painting on a 24" X 24" X 3/4" stretched canvas with acrylic.

I have this piece hanging in my dining room area, at this time. I have really enjoyed this extra punch of color on the wall and the colors brings about the feelings of Spring, even though the large window right next to it tells another story.

Most Favorited Artists

I was listed one of the top ten "Most Favorited Artists" at EBSQ! I was throughly honored! There was ten of us listed out of nearly 2400 artist. The front page has now changed, and is only showing the top 5, but I'm still absolutely thrilled I was up on there, amongst artists that I highly admire, even for but a few days.

Dragonfly Studio Desk

Greetings and a Happy New Year!

This Christmas my son (9) got a new computer and beautiful new desk to put it on, well, I took the old desk and painted it to put in my studio and that is what you see here.

I painted it with acrylics and vanished it. Due to the vanish and overcast day the pictures may have not come out as well as I'd hoped.

Jellyfish ~ In Progress

SOLD

This is my first Jellyfish painting and I've enjoyed creating it thus far so much that I've may very well paint a small series of paintings. I took several photographs of the beautiful jellyfish swimming in this massive tank at the Oregon Aquarium. They have been great reference pics for this piece. :)

This particular painting is created on a 10" X 10" stretched canvas using acrylic.

I will post more as the painting progresses.

"Dragonflies" ~ 8" X 8" Acrylic Painting

SOLD

I started this piece in 2005. It has been a decoration piece in my living room since that time. I really enjoyed it, however, this couple weeks I kept thinking I wanted to embellish on the original piece. I really do like how it evolved.
This Asian inspired dragonfly piece is created with acrylic on an 8" X 8" stretched canvas. The painting continues on all sides and is ready to hang.

Almost done! I was cruising right along, simply enjoying the ride when I notice something in the background I just don't like. My answer to to my "problem" seems to have created a bigger background problem! lol I was so close. ;) Now to remedy the background prob while still maintaining the detail in the piece. I haven't painted in "pastels" for so long it seems foreign to me. ;) Wish me luck! ;)

Progression of Dragonfly Painting, "Spring Meets Fall Dragonflies"

I did not plan out "Spring Meets Fall Dragonflies", though I did use my datebook as inspiration for this piece. I've allowed the piece to just unfold and this is how it has progressed thus far.

On the Easel

The above painting, currently named "Spiral Leaves" is acrylic on a 24" X 18" canvas. The idea for this painting has swayed from the original sketch I made for this piece, however, I truly like the direction it took.

The above painting, currently named "Flight of Fancy" is acrylic on a 24" X 18" canvas. This too is unfinished, thus the reason it is still on an easel. ;) I plan to change the flower in the piece as well as add more to the "branch" to anchor it into the painting. I don't really like how it seems to just float there, as it is now.

This unnamed Calla Lilly piece is acrylic on a 18" X 24" canvas. Even though, this piece is basically done, the colors in the upper right are just not quite right.
