Rendition Me This Art Challenge - Le Femme - Work in Progress

"Le Femme" - Original Dana Marie Wearable Art Piece

"Le Femme" - Original Dana Marie Wearable Art Piece

I created this piece for the Rendition Me This art Challenge - Le Femme.  I'm not sure why I went this direction as it's not what I had in mind before I began painting, but once I began painting this is what I had imagined.  I would like to paint another, as well, but with looser circler strokes for the tree foliage.

I'm not sure if you can tell that the upper and lower part of this piece have different color under lays.  The upper portion is sky blue as the lower portion is aqua and overlayed with yellow ochre and cream.

I hope to finish it soon now that I can see what I would like to change.  :)

Work in Progress -

Update: The piece is now complete and has been uploaded to the art challenge.    I will be taking more photos of the painting and putting up for sell on Etsy.

Come join in on the challenge at Rendition Me This!

Happy Creating!

Off to Green Peter Lake and Up the Creek without Snow Tires

I assumed the lake would be green due the name, Green Peter Lake, but WOW not this green!

Could it get even more beautiful? The answer is a resounding, YES!

We are now heading up the river.

We stopped several and took walks along the river....one of those stops was at Yellowbottom. Just before we arrived at this small park and campground I saw several people with pans. Could they be panning for gold? Indeed they were. There was a sign about panning for gold at Yellowbottom where we found three others sifting through the sand and rocks.

We have planned to come back later in the Spring to camp, pan for gold (not to get rich lol but for the experience) and hunt for morels. I look forward to it!

We ended up on a single lane road to Highway 22 when we hit snow! For those of you who don't know, I drive a Volkswagon Bug....not exactly a four wheel vechicle! :) We went a ways before gave up and turned around.

What a gorgeous trip! Seven hours later we made safely home.

Our Trip to Foster Lake Oregon

After we got through Sweet Home (OR) and picked up our lunch for a picnic we arrived at Sunnyside Country park. We had been to the park once last year and it looked much differently. I then realized the lake water was but half of the size it was last time….they have yet to let the damn out.

After a bite to eat we headed down to the water.

We walked along the water on a road, mind you this is normally under water. as the road ended in the water instead of walking back the way we came, we decided to head inland. It was quite muddy in places, but it was well worth the mess.

I'll continue the rest of the day trip on another post.

Cheers,
