I have a project that I'm working in which I use script.

I can't wait to share it here when I'm done!

It's unlike anything I've done before.

I purchased the materials not knowing what I'd being creating and I was pleased with what I've morphed it into.

I hope to have it finished soon.  Along with all the other projects!  ;)

 Have a BEAUTIFUL day!

The Billionaire's Tea Party

Please, take the time to watch this 2:28 minute video and then decide if you would want to know more.

"The Tea Party movement has taken American politics by storm. But is this truly a populist uprising or one of the greatest feats of propaganda ever seen? Australian filmmaker Taki Oldham sets out answer this question, finding that behind the movement's rhetoric of 'freedom' versus 'socialism' lies a highly co-ordinated network of shadow groups, funded by the likes of billionaire ideologues Charles and David Koch. Are the Tea Party protestors really just pawns in a plan to replace government with a privatized America?"

This is an important one and is not part of a longer video:

I HIGHLY recommend taking the time to watch this next one:

Start asking WHO is behind this idea, this party, etc.  ....You'll find it's OFTEN Corporations/the Billionaires.  They do NOT care about you or what they are selling it's all about the $$$$!

Keep Informed.

Hidden Hazards in Air Fresheners

Important Video - PLEASE Watch

http://www.nrdc.org/health/home/airfresheners/fairfresheners.pdf

"Air fresheners have become a staple in many American homes and offices, marketed with the promise of creating a clean, healthy, and sweet-smelling indoor atmosphere. But many of these products contain phthalates

(pronounced

thal-ates)—hazardous chemicals known to cause hormonal abnormalities, birth defects, and reproductive problems.

NRDC’s independent testing of 14 common air fresheners, none of which listed phthalates as an ingredient, uncovered these chemicals in 86 percent (12 of 14) of the products tested, including those advertised as “allnatural” or “unscented.”

 "Until consumers are given the information they need to make informed decisions about whether to use these products, it is best to avoid using air fresheners—especially in places where there are children or pregnant women."

Phthalates: Health Hazards in Many Forms

"Phthalates are used in many common consumer products—to soften plastics in children’s toys, as sealants and adhesives in nail polish, and in perfumes and air fresheners."

"When people use air fresheners, the phthalates are released into the air where they may be inhaled or may land on the skin and be absorbed. Once these chemicals enter the bloodstream, they can alter hormone levels and cause other health problems."

"Phthalate exposure in indoor environments has also been associated with allergic symptoms and asthma."

 Protect Your Family from the Hidden Hazards in Air Fresheners

If you decide to use an air freshener, however, careful selection may reduce phthalate exposures to you and your family. The table shows which brands we tested contained phthalates.

* Air Wick Scented Oil - Contained moderate level of phthalates (between 1 and 10 ppm of total phthalates)

* Citrus Magic -  Contained trace level of phthalates (less than 1 ppm of total phthalates)

* Febreze Air Effects Air Refresher - Contained NO phthalates

* Febreze NOTICEables Scented Oil Contained moderate level of phthalates (between 1 and 10 ppm of total phthalates)

* Glade Air Infusions - Contained moderate level of phthalates (between 1 and 10 ppm of total phthalates)

* Glade PlugIn Scented Oil - Contained moderate level of phthalates (between 1 and 10 ppm of total phthalates)

 * Lysol Brand II Disinfectant - Contained trace level of phthalates (less than 1 ppm of total phthalates)

 * Oust Air Sanitizer Spray - Contained moderate level of phthalates (between 1 and 10 ppm of total phthalates)

 * Oust Fan Liquid Refills - Contained trace level of phthalates (less than 1 ppm of total phthalates)

* Ozium Glycol-ized Air Sanitizer - Contained HIGH level of phthalates (more than 10 ppm of total phthalates)

* Renuzit Subtle Effects - Contained NO phthalates

 * Walgreens Air Freshener Spray - Contained HIGH level of phthalates (more than 10 ppm of total phthalates)

* Walgreens Scented Bouquet Air Freshener - Contained HIGH level of phthalates (more than 10 ppm of total phthalates)

 * Walgreens Solid Air Freshener - Contained HIGH level of phthalates (more than 10 ppm of total phthalates)

You cannot look on the ingredients list and find out if there are phthalates, they are not required to list this on any product at this time.

Here are some wonderful Bath & Beauty products that are Handcrafted and can be found at Etsy that are Phthalates FREE.

Here is a wonderful Etsy shop, greenbubbleshome, that is Phthalates Free!

Operation Whole Foods Hidden Camera GMO Sting - Bait Organic, Switch to GMO

Apparently, Youtube has pulled an undercover ‘Organic Spies’ video questioning Whole Foods employees as to whether or not any of the products within Whole Foods contained GMO ingredients so this may not be up long.

Organic Spies conducted an undercover hidden camera sting of Whole Foods Market for selling unlabeled GMO foods.

This film shows why Whole Foods has given no money to Proposition 37, the California ballot initiative to label genetically engineered foods.

Whole Foods has sold unlabeled GMOs created by Monsanto for over a decade.

20-30% of Whole Foods products are GMO

Whole Foods trains employees to tell customers that they do not sell any GMO foods.

I found this really interesting... "This is basic Vitamin C, ascorbic acid ...if we go and even check ascorbic acid...ascorbic acid is made with corn. Corn's basically the majority of it and that's grown with GMO. Unless you know someone who is growing it, it's GMO."

The majority of soy grown in the US is GMO. So the majority of products with soy is GMO.

October 16th is World Food Day

"Return any GMO Foods you may have bought at Whole Foods and demand that they label them."

Natural News YouTube censors 'Organic Spies' video exposing Whole Foods employees lying about GMOs

Newest Natural News Article on Whole Foods and GMOs: Whole Foods confirms it knowingly sells products containing Monsanto's genetically modified corn: Don't ask, don't tell!

"Whole Foods CEO John Mackey confirmed in a blog post three days ago that Whole Foods knowingly sells Monsanto GM corn in numerous products. "
However, it's up to you figure which ones......

We are Moving to ....Staying in Salem

As many of you may know, we were looking to move to the Portland area. At first we cut out Vancouver, WA as the commute would be just too far. After some months we then cut out NE and NW Portland for the same reason. We then decided we didn't want to move any closer than the Tualatin, Lake Oswego, Oregon City, areas. At this time we began to consider looking at the Salem area.

We then found a couple houses here in Salem that we were interested in and fell in love with one. That was a couple weeks ago and today we found out we will be moving into the house we fell in love with in November! We would love to move in NOW! I can't wait! I'm already mentally decorating each room.

Here are some pictures they have of the house:

Have a beautiful evening!

Nature of Things (Pendant Necklace) - Original Dana Marie Wearable Art - SOLD

"Nature of Things" - SOLD

Original Dana Marie Wearable Art

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We went to the Arts Festival in the Forest at Mary S Young Park for the first time today.  It was a hot day, but we are still glad we drove out to the festival.
There was two large yard pieces I fell in love with and I wish we had room in the car to bring them home, but I guess I can look at as that we saved $400+ dollars.
I wish I had pictures of the pieces but I left my camera in the car.
I do have the link to some images of the work of one of the metal artists:  Cowdawg Creations
I found the piece I wanted:  Bird House (note the image is extremely small)
I cannot seem to find the other metal artist....if I find a link I'll post it.
Have a wonderful day!
My eBay Store and Auctions - Original Wearable Art Necklaces by Dana Marie
It has been awhile since I have really updated my eBay store so I decided to do so yesterday. I even put up two auctions (the original wearable art pieces below)
I'm on my computer upstairs (I'm usually on my laptop) and the colors of the pieces above (and in my shop) almost look florescent! I hope they don't appear that way to others!
I have probably 5 paintings or more that I'm working on at this time and I'm hoping to get a couple done by this weekend.  :)
Off to do some laundry and then paint!
Moving to Portland
We are moving to Portland!
We have yet to find "the house" but I've already started changing location from Salem to Portland.
I honestly can't even count how many homes we have looked at so far, but the search continues. :)
So, any of you from Portland area that know of any houses for rent please keep us in mind....you can email me at danamarieart@yahoo.com
This is from our Craigslist ad:
Professional couple (Clinical Psychologist and Artist) with one child looking to rent a 3+ bedroom home with private outdoor space.
 We have a fourteen year old, sedentary Golden Retriever and a well-mannered house cat. Excellent references from current and previous landlords.
Longer-term rental preferred. 1 year lease +
We are looking at Lake Oswego, West Linn, Tualatin, Beaverton, Tigard, Sherwood, Happy Valley and the general Portland area.
Flexible on move-in date.
Prefer 2400+ sqft.
We are going to miss our beautiful home in Salem, but we are looking foward to our move to the Portland area. We enjoy our living space (private front and back) outside and spend as much time out there as possible so we are looking for a house with a great outdoor area.
We are Non-smokers.
RIP mystgarden (Kim Collins Fillio) - Memorial Fund
This message was sent to me today by an eBay group (*Custom Dolls, Houses, & Miniatures* CDHM:
Kim Collins Fillio Memorial Fund
http://fundrazr.com/campaigns/8Jmn9
Our little world of Doll and Miniature Artists has lost one of our own, mystgarden aka Kim Collins Fillio. Our friend, my friend, lost her battle with cancer. She was only 48.
A very close local friend of Kim's has established a Memorial Fund. The Fund page states (below).
If everyone could find it in their hearts to just donate US $6 we can hit this goal easily.
"Kim Fillio was an artist known all around the world for her amazing lifelike little fairies, no two were the same... She lost her year long battle to cancer May 25 2012, leaving behind 5 children and her husband. During Kim's fight she was unable to sculpt and contribute to the financial needs of the family... everyone pulled together going the extra mile...even though, her husband's profession as a steel worker, can at times be sporadic.
Running between medical appointments for the treatments, trying to keep the girls in their active lifestyles, he had been laid off several times and we all know how hard todays economy can be without any challenges.
The family is in need of financial assitance to maintain their home and get back on their feet. unfortunatey, there was no insurance to assist the family after her passing."
My heart goes out to her family and friends.
With Much Love,
~ Dana Marie
