Off to Green Peter Lake and Up the Creek without Snow Tires

I assumed the lake would be green due the name, Green Peter Lake, but WOW not this green!

Could it get even more beautiful? The answer is a resounding, YES!

We are now heading up the river.

We stopped several and took walks along the river....one of those stops was at Yellowbottom. Just before we arrived at this small park and campground I saw several people with pans. Could they be panning for gold? Indeed they were. There was a sign about panning for gold at Yellowbottom where we found three others sifting through the sand and rocks.

We have planned to come back later in the Spring to camp, pan for gold (not to get rich lol but for the experience) and hunt for morels. I look forward to it!

We ended up on a single lane road to Highway 22 when we hit snow! For those of you who don't know, I drive a Volkswagon Bug....not exactly a four wheel vechicle! :) We went a ways before gave up and turned around.

What a gorgeous trip! Seven hours later we made safely home.

Cheers,
~ Dana Marie
